About the job

Hi everyone — I’m currently developing a half-hour dramedy series called SASS, co-created with the brilliant Shayon Maitra (director/editor) and myself, Lindsey Brannon (producer). We’re looking to team up with a show runner/producer to help develop the series and bring this story to life.

SASS follows a group of South Asian college students as they navigate identity, friendship, and ambition through the lens of their university’s South Asian Student Society (yes, also called SASS).

It’s Dear White People meets Never Have I Ever — rooted in culture, packed with heart, and brimming with wit and generational tension. Think: chai-fueled debates, club elections gone rogue, first loves, family expectations, and the messy magic of finding your people.

• It’s the kind of representation we don’t see enough of — layered, joyful, and unapologetically specific

• It captures a formative time of life through a fresh, authentic lens

• And it’s co-created by two creatives passionate about telling this story right

We’re looking for a creative partner with experience in dramedy or ensemble stories, who is excited about centering underrepresented voices and helping us launch something fresh and meaningful.
