About Graham

Born in Liverpool to Scottish parents, I studied film and literature at Glasgow University, and now work as a filmmaker and creative producer based in London and Stirling, Scotland.

MILE END, my feature debut as a writer-director, premiered at the 23rd Raindance Film Festival in 2015, where it was nominated for BEST UK FEATURE. MILE END has since won nine international awards, including five for BEST FILM at festivals in New York, Los Angeles, San Antonio, Toronto and Melbourne. MILE END is now streaming exclusively on Flix Premiere in the UK and USA.

I was one of the first filmmakers to win funding from the Arts Council/National Lottery for my short film Pride, which premiered at the 40th London Film Festival, and was released in cinemas by Metro Tartan and broadcast on Channel 4's Shooting Gallery. I won the BEST NEW TALENT award at the Merseyside Arts & Entertainment Awards for Pride.

I have written and directed six short films, which have screened theatrically, in festivals across Europe, Asia and North America, and on television in the UK and Europe.

I am also founder of Detour East Films, a production company specialising in creative strategy and production. With Detour East, I have been producing creative content and campaigns for government and corporate clients since 2009, including Faculty Data Science, Government Digital Service, Cabinet Office, Department for International Trade, Department for the Environment, Instanda, Morgan Philips Group and Sisters in Tech.
