About Hugo

Award winning filmmaker Hugo C. Domenech was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain where he studied Film and Design. He has won a Silver Laus (ADG-FAD, most prestigious National Design Awards in Spain) and several nominations for his motion graphics work.

ALWAYS WITH YOU, his latest short film, has won Best Fantasy Short at the 2017 Atlanta Shortsfest and was premiered at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood during the 20th Dances with Films festival.

Since 2011, the motion graphics piece PINCEL DE ZORRO, which he directed and animated, has earned acclaim across the globe for its combination of live shots and 3D projecting techniques, bringing to life the illustrations of the book and creating a unique fantastical visual experience.

He is responsible for the Main Tittle sequence of movies such as SURROGATES, THE FINAL DESTINATION, FAME and KILLERS.
When he is not working in film or graphics, he loves to invent new creations to use in filmmaking. For this film, he created a video tap system for the Super 8 camera which allowed to used it in Steadicam and slider without the need of constantly having to look through the viewfinder.
