Janet Laidlaw has been involved with television and video production, promotional writing, and editing since 1988. She is the creator of the award nominated web series “Wild Goose Chases”. Her short film “House Care” was screened at the Haida Gwaii Festival and recently went on tour with the Bow Wow Festival, with showings in Florida, Texas, Minnesota, Colorado and California.
Her corporate productions have received several awards, including GM Canada’s Ad Impact Award, a Certificate of Merit from the Graphic Designers of Canada (Vancouver Island Chapter) and 3 TVB (Television Bureau of Canada) awards. She was awarded the New Media award the in 2006 from Mid Island Science, Technology & Innovation Council for her video production company Alterra Media.
She uploads new videos every Thursday on her sketch comedy YouTube channel.
Unique traits: Worked as a part time real life wild goose chaser from 2008 - 2014, sending away Canada Geese from local parks with her border collies. Her crafty dogs also play basketball, piano and clean the house. Writer, filmmaker, poop disturber.
