Jazz Vila es un actor, director, productor y dramaturgo, nacido en La Habana, Cuba el 21 de agosto de 1984.
Inició su carrera profesional a los 14 años en la telenovela Las Huérfanas de la Obrapía. En 2004 se gradúa en la prestigiosa Escuela de Artes Escénicas de Cuba. Desde entonces ha desarrollado una amplia carrera artística que lo ha llevado por varios países de Europa y América. Es fundador y CEO de la compañía Jazz Vila Projects. En 2015 la revista VISTAR lo incluyó en la lista de los seis actores jóvenes más recurrentes del cine cubano.
En el teatro destacan sus interpretaciones en piezas como Ícaros, La loca de Chaillot, Calígula (Carlos Díaz) y Carmen Jones, el musical (Cristopher Renshaw). Aunque su reconocimiento ha sido gracias al cine, en películas como El Acompañante (Pavel Giroud), Fátima o el parque de la Fraternidad (Jorge Perugorria) Personal Belongings y Juan de los Muertos (Alejandro Brugués). Su actuación en esta última con el personaje de ‘’la China’’ le ha valido el favor de la crítica, el público, la candidatura a la nominación de los premios Goya (España) como “mejor actor revelación” y una nominación como “mejor actor de cine” a los premios de la revista Shangay (España).
Por su creciente nivel artístico ha sido invitado a prestigiosos encuentros como el Festival de Avignon (Francia), el Talent Corner de jóvenes actores en la 64 edición del Festival de Cannes (Francia), el Talent Campus Guadalajara 2012 (México) y el Berlinale Talent 2014 (Alemania).
Jazz ha ofrecido su imagen para diversas organizaciones y campanas benéficas como el calendario de la fundación que investiga la enfermedad del ELA (Fundela) y la Fundación Aladina que apoya a niños y adolescentes.
Actualmente Vilá alterna sus compromisos profesionales con la formación artística de nuevos talentos a través de sus Workshops.
