About Justin

Justin Norman is an award-winning writer, director, editor, animator, actor, and music composer. He has written, edited, and directed over 50 short films, many of which are part of the award-winning Evil Grin Gift Box web series. His political short, NaziMaker, received over 600,000 views within three days of its publication, and has been shared by prominent commentators, including Joe Rogan, Ben Shapiro, and Dave Rubin. His animated short film, The Eye, won Runner Up Best Film in its category at Salute Your Shorts Fest in Los Angeles. His other award-winning shorts include Whistle Boys (Best in Show – ISA Short Film Showcase, Best Editing – IMPA Awards), Note to Self (First Runner Up Best Film, Best Directing, Best Editing, Best Acting, Audience Choice – 48HFP Des Moines), The Wash (First Runner Up Best Film, Audience Choice – 48HFP Chicago), The Breadwinner (Best Writing, Best Actor, Audience Choice), One Million XP (Best Editing, Best Cinematography), Twig (Best Editing), Cope (Best Editing, Best Actress, 2nd Runner Up Best Film) and Paved (Best Editing, Audience Choice). He composes music as Make-Believe Machines and has released three full-length albums and three soundtracks under the name.

The characters in “Shedding” all cope differently with their longing, but the shared experience bonds them together, despite such fantastic disparities. Additionally, the film explores the positive effects that pets have on humans. They bring no agendas or distractions to relationships. Just by bringing their presence and undivided attention, the human soul is lifted.
