About Kat

I am the youngest of three children born into an active duty family in the United States Navy. I was born in El Paso, Texas on Fort Bliss Army Base while my father was stationed there. I moved with my family to Middletown, Rhode Island before my father retired in Arkansas. I have spent the vast majority of my life growing up and living in Arkansas and I claim it as my home.

I became active in the theatre world during my seventh grade year at Cabot Junior High South in Cabot, Arkansas. I enrolled into an introduction to Forensics course in 2003 and I guess you could say the rest is history! I became active on the competitive Forensics circuit in Arkansas and traveled around the state under the Cabot banner until I moved to Little Rock in the summer of 2006. Upon my enrollment into Little Rock Central High, I entered into their drama department and continued my work on the competitive circuit. During my time at Central, I also performed in two fall productions as well as work in the stage crew for one of them. I graduated from Central in May of 2009 with Thespian Honors.

After graduating high school, I moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my high school sweetheart and lived in Oregon for five and a half years. While in Oregon, I married my husband and briefly pursued a career in pharmacy. I moved back to Arkansas in the summer of 2014 to care for my mother as she passed away from lung cancer. My husband and I stayed in Arkansas after her passing, purchased a home, and we now take care of my father with the help of our four dogs and one very grumpy cat. After a hiatus from school, I returned to college in the fall of 2015 at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock where I am currently a Theatre Major with interest in acting, creative writing, directing, and costume design. (I quickly learned that work in the pharmaceutical field was not for me and returned to my passion.) I am excited to see what my time at UALR has in store for me and I look forward to furthering my career in the wonderful world of theatre!
