Kate Jirelle is an award-winning actor and writer currently based in Sydney, Australia.

Born and raised within the stunning regional landscapes of the Blue Mountains, Kate's creative work often reflects a grounded and honest respect for the beauty and struggle evident in the world and relationships that shape us. In this way her work aims to explore and celebrate the extraordinary moments of ordinary lives.

In 2022 she placed Second in her category in the first round of the NYC Midnight Short Screenplay competition with her short screenplay, BROKEN. In 2023, this script, then went on to win the award for 'Best Short Screenplay' at the Sydney International Womens Festival and Golden Nugget International Film Festival, as well as 'Best Genre Script' at the Monkey Bread Tree Film Awards. It was also recognised as a Finalist in the Santa Barbara International Screenplay Awards and Semi-Finalist in the Australia Independent Film Festival.

Also in 2023, her play, TO THOSE I LEFT BEHIND, inspired by Kate’s personal experiences leaving the teaching profession, won the award for ‘Best Play’ in Short+Sweet Sydney, and her debut full-length immersive theatre play, THE SECRETS OF CARMICHAEL MANOR, toured across Sydney and Maitland to positive acclaim.
