About Katherine

Katherine (Kat) Hill is an award winning screenplay writer from the U.K who moved to Vancouver, Canada in 2004. She has an M.A in Film, a B.A in Film & Theatre and graduated from the UCLA Screenwriting program. A clichéd European, she enjoys bold red wines, art galleries, jazz music and French films but lives in Vancouver surrounded by active hikers, mountain bikers and skiers. Her most recent achievement was getting her Private Investigator's License, which Katherine intends to use for solving crime, investigative research and most of all...for her next TV Series.
She has a great passion for storytelling on social issues with female protagonists.

Kat began writing in 2005, when she couldn't find interesting roles for herself as an actor. She started writing as a way to explore that and ended up working towards bridging that gap for women in the film industry. While she continues writing scripts, she works as an Acting, Film and Theatre Instructor and Director. A cinephile, lover of all arts and advocate for human rights, Kat is also in the throws of obtaining her P.I licence, to enhance her characters, her writing and the love of mystery, the law and investigation.

Many of Kat's screenplays have garnered attention in Screenplay writing Competitions from The Atlanta Film Festival, Golden Script Awards, Paris Art and Movie Awards, to name a few.
