Kyle Hausmann-Stokes

Kyle Hausmann-Stokes is an award-winning director based in Los Angeles.

Kyle began making films in the U.S. Army, of all places, while serving as a staff sergeant and infantry paratrooper. He enlisted during peacetime, just a month prior to 9/11, and when he suddenly found himself part of a military at war, Kyle discovered a unique calling in capturing the soldier’s experience through film. In training, he’d film maneuvers in the swamps of Louisiana and edit them into cinematic, morale-boosting music videos. As a convoy commander in Iraq (for which he was awarded the Bronze Star), Kyle would mount pre-GoPro cameras to every inch of his armored humvee and conduct raw interviews with his platoon mates following roadside bomb attacks. As a filmmaker, for Kyle the military was a proving ground rife with story, diversity and emotion.

Kyle graduated from the USC School of Cinematic Arts (directing/production) and was selected to direct one of four school-funded thesis films. Following graduation, Kyle found a niche directing a variety of veteran-themed content including dozens of nationally broadcast PSAs and a four year, multi-million dollar campaign for the U.S. Dept of Veterans Affairs.

In 2015, Kyle transitioned to the advertising space, obtaining representation after directing a pair of noteworthy spec spots for Audi and Under Armour. He's gone on to create content for brands like AirBnB, Samsung, Nike, FitBit, Dunkin’ Donuts, Bayer, I LOVE NY, Richer Poorer, Mosey, El Camino and Easter Seals. Equally passionate about film, television and digital content, in 2016 Kyle wrote and directed the entire first, 12-episode, season of MEALS READY TO EAT, a CHEF'S TABLE like food and travel show for Verizon's Go90 network.

Kyle has shot all over the globe (Russia, Japan, Israel, Palestine, Guam, Lisbon, throughout the USA) and speaks fluent Spanish thanks to a work/study semester in Madrid.

Originally from Madison, WI, Kyle lives with his wife [creative director/photog Audrey Ma] in Pasadena where they spend most of their free time and $$ on travel, food and dog toys.
