About Linda

I write to discover.

An experienced novelist and award-winning short story writer, freelance article writer, screenwriter, and playwright I'm working on producing my first short film. Always looking to work with other creative people to bring to life to great stories. Let's collaborate!

I studied nursing in college where I also was a principal, scriptwriter, and director of Marketing for Wyoming Contemporary Video Productions, a small company that made healthcare training videos. I've published articles, essays, nonfiction and novels. In high school my one act play (in French) was performed at Baltimore's Hippodrome where it won third place. I've made a composite career including acute care nursing, teaching skydiving, and freelance writing. These days I write full time. My first novel, Star-Crossed (Alfred A. Knopf; 2006) was chosen by the New York Public Library to be among the Books for the Teen Age - 2007. I love the collaborative process of film making and stage production. Some of my past projects include

Friday Night Knife & Gun Club (first of a series of short noir satires performed by Annika Connor () and on Kindle.
Blue Moon Luck (novel; winner of the 1996 Maui Writers Conference Award )
Water Ghosts (novel; finalist Foreword Reviews Indie BOTY 2015) Audiobook performed by Aaron Landon.
Looking for Redfeather (novel and stage play; Fiction House, Ltd. Literary Fiction Book Review Award) Audiobook performed by Aaron Landon.
Patricia MacPherson Nautical Adventure Series (historical saga) Barbados Bound, Surgeon's Mate, Rhode Island Rendezvous.
Star Crossed (Alfred A. Knopf. NYPL Books for the Teen Age - 2007)
Perfect Stranger, a short story and short screen play.
Paradise: On the Edge and Slipping (short story, honorable mention, Honolulu Magazine; Pacific Basin Communications
Star-Crossed (novel; Alfred A. Knopf; NYPL Book for the Teen Age - 2007 )
Colorado Kids (armchair travel; Pruett Publishing)
Rocky Mountain Wineries (armchair travel; Pruett)

Unique traits: Award-winning novelist, short story writer, scriptwriter. My strengths are character development, dialogue, and setting.
