Toronto Urban Film Festival - Call for Submissions, Deadline June 30, 2015

Take part in North America's Largest Commuter Film Festival Submit Silent, 60-Second Film, Video, Animation The 9th annual Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF) returns to subway platform screens across Toronto from September 12 - 20, 2015. Enter for free until May 31. Final deadline is June 30, 2015. Submit now. The TUFF call for submissions is open to Canadian and international filmmakers and accepts all genres of silent, one-minute film, video, and animation of interest to an urban audience. TUFF pays screening fees and selected films are eligible for cash prizes and awards, including a $3,000 top prize and a $2,500 award from the City of Toronto for the best emerging GTA film that takes an inspired view of the city. This year TUFF is also accepting film, video and animation submission for the TUFF Local Stories programme, which will appear on the Pattison Onestop network of screens in malls across Canada. 'TUFF Local Stories' will feature work by Canadians that examine, explore, critique, or show love for their own hometowns in creative ways. The audience for 'TUFF Local Stories' includes over 5 million mall visitors a week across the country. TUFF screens at 5-minute intervals on over 290 platform screens in 63 stations across the Toronto subway system, and non-stop our designated downtown "Film Zone" - St Andrew station. The audience for TUFF includes over one million daily commuters. Selections are made by our programming team, and top prizes are awarded by a special guest judge. Past guest judges have included Guy Maddin, Bruce McDonald, Jennifer Baichwal, Atom Egoyan, and Deepa Mehta.
