Anything Goes : MAX dialog audio by John O'Hara

Recently we went to see - or at least try to see - Max. Although a very touching story and some nice cinematography the dialog was almost unintelligible to the point I finally had to leave the theater and request a refund. Initially, I thought that the sound was set too low in the theater. As the film progressed I realized that the dialog sounded poorly done. Has anyone had a similar experience with this movie?
