Hello, I am re-entering the film production world after a rather circuitous route. Film school at UM, motor home driver, art dept assistant, documentary 70MM film loader, then set up a film production company in HCMC, Vietnam, mostly working on TVCs. I then entered the video game industry, starting a dev studio in Vietnam. Since then have been doing business development for tech in games, some motion capture, now helping bring virtual production LED walls and stages to a few places in Asia and elsewhere, which, if done correctly, and from the very beginning of pre production, can keep costs down.
Plus, assets used from pitch viz, pre viz, tech viz, etc, can be reused and part of the final pixel. And the methods allow the key creatives to be part of the final pixel, instead of lighting decisions being made by VFX artists months later.
I have recently started working on a development company focusing on Cli-fi (Climate fiction), utilizing the latest virtual production techniques. The goal is to combat the hundreds of millions of dollars the fossil fuel industry spends on propaganda and misinformation. Subtly though, the stories don't have to actually be about climate change, but more of a period piece, in the future, where the characters live in the devastation wrought by our inaction.
We have our first (and maybe second) IP, a novel to be scripted by the author.
We are still in the fundraising stage, but I believe we will get this thing off the ground.
I am excited to be part of the Stage32 endeavor, and to be participating in the project packaging lab.
I also have access to excellent artists with deep knowledge of Unreal, if anyone wants to create a pitch viz for their work. Just reach out.
Thanks!
