In my first introduction, I mentioned my family drama TV series, Cannaopolis, being shopped now. The story is told through the eyes of a visiting journalist, as legalization changes the lives of small cannabis farmers and caregivers forever. It's based on my ten years in Humboldt County, and it's characters and the stories told are based on factual people and situations I experienced while living and working in media in the region. The pilot for the series is written, with cliff-hangers setting up the first season.
What's in Your Stash? is a popular series I write for High Times Magazine, taking a peek into the stashes of everyone from high profile people in the industry to stay-at-home moms choosing weed over wine. When you look at someone's stash, you are looking at how they medicate and why; with each episode delving into the hows and whys of dosing, healing, and the art of the tribal hang out, as reflected in each stash. Production for the sizzle reel for this show is completed, and is in post now.
Another show I've developed is titled Weed Traveler, with Denver's Trichome Institute's co-founder, Max Montrose, as host. Max is the Science Guy, the Crocodile Hunter, Mister Rogers, and Anthony Bourdain, all rolled up into one amazing character, who loves the alchemy of plants. Max has already traveled the world in search of plants that affect our psyche; he's a wild, cannabis land-race hunter, with a passion for plants, science, and the human connection to the garden. I have a 14 minute compilation of Max in various situations around the world for review, and am working on a deck now.
