As an indie filmmaker living in the greater New Jersey/New York city area I am always looking for an opportunity to work and collaborate with other like minded artist who share my passions. I enjoy surrounding myself with people who are “about the work” and committed to their craft. Filmmaking is a profession that demands the collaboration of people with different skills, backgrounds, and experiences. My favorite part about collaborating is getting to know the people I work with, listening to their ideas, learning about their passions, and observing them apply their craft . It is synergistic when people work together to bring the written word to life. Everyone playing their a part. and then celebrating the hard work and success afterward. The hardest part about being an Independent filmmaking is finding people like these who share you commitment, and work ethic. It is a challenge to say the least. I created the Garden State Indie Film Collective, a member run organization to take on this challenge with a purpose of bringing New Jersey’s based artist, actors, and storytellers together to collaborate on projects, share knowledge with a pay it forward attitude. All working together for the greater good of the people invovled and the project they are working on. I am pleased to announce a collaborative collaboration with the Golden Door International Film Festival (GDIFF) to foster community among filmmakers in the Garden State. The GSIFC and the GDIFF goal is to bring people together to to celebrate New Jersey cinema, screen films, foster relationships and practice the art and craft we all come to love. I proud to announce The Garden State Indie Film Collective will host a meet-up at the festival at the Filmmakers Lounge during the festival. In the collaborative spirit of this new relationship I am reaching out to friends, family, and fellow filmmakers, members and supporters of the Garden State Indie Film Collective to sign up to volunteer at this years Golden Door International Film Festival. This a great opportunity to rub elbows with celebrities, build your network, and screen films.
