This is a trends précis, and I wish there was more data to go with this. However, the global growth except in Great Britain is perhaps more a reflection on the state of the GB economy than of the VoD industry.
The GB economy is in dire straits - the land not the band - and this is also perhaps the reason behind the concern over British Film Production being on the wane and the lack of private investment. The Film and TV industry after all, is not impervious to the state of national economies and for Great Britain it may mean waiting to see if there’s a lift in the economy followed by a increase in investment for the industry after the national elections.
