About Lucio

I started my career as a cinematographer and colorist in 2006, working at “UAPA”, the first Italian web series. I then worked in several web and TV series for Fox, Comedy Center, RAI and more. In 2008, I started shooting and color grading short and feature films, as well as music videos and documentaries, for many Italian and foreign directors. The same year, I started producing my own short films, that have been screened and awarded at numerous film festivals worldwide.

I love telling stories and I love creating a world for each one of them. To me, "photography" is about lighting and color grading as much as about scenography, costumes, make up... to me, "photography" means everything that's visual in a film. I also like to confront with musicians and sound designers, to decide how to get the right mood in every scene. The way I see it, good filmmaking is always a teamwork, is always about working together for a common goal. And I love being on a set when this happens...

Before 2006, I've been working as a photographer for a few years. That was the "film" era... when digital photography kicked in, I felt it was not fun anymore.
