About Marsh

I've been writing, drawing, and filming since elementary school. I created my own comic books in elementary school, completed my first (unpublished) novel in high school, and used my Star Wars action figures and my grandfather’s old 8mm camera to create stop-motion films.

After raising my sons, I could devote more of my attention to these lifelong passions. In 2013, I created my own imprint, Laughing Boy Books, where I published my first young adult novel, His Life Abiding.

Since then, I've added The Men in the Trees (2014), My Summer (with Robots) (2018), and My Summer (Under a Crescent Moon) (2021). My Summer (and the Song of Cicadas), the final book in the Quinton's Curious Mind YA series, released in September 2024.

In addition to these writing projects, I edited and published The River Years: A Memoir from the Muddy Banks of Lee's Ferry, a memoir written by my late mother, Dawn Myers. I am also currently working on a paranormal mystery series for preteens.

In 2023, I fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning a bookstore! (Okay, it's a virtual store, but still...) Laughing Boy Books, an affiliate for Bookshop.org, has allowed me to share my decidedly nerdish interest with others by recommending and previewing all kinds of book, comic, and graphic novel titles. As a result, many of the features on this website will now have related book recs.

Unique traits: I can do a fair Yoda impression.
