My first short created in 2007. Technically it's a mess, I know. I can do a lot better if I can work together with other people and if I have better equipment. It was orginal shot in color but the light was so bad, I converted it to B/W to hide this a little bit. I wrote the screenplay myself in just 3 days. Dead Serious was shot on a single afternoon with a 150$ Canon mini-DV camera and with absolutely no budget. It was not planned that I would play the male part, but I couldn't find an actor who wanted to work for free, so I did it myself. That was not a good idea. Next time I make a short I want to concentrate on directing and I certainly don't want to act, write, direct, operate the camera, do sound and light and edit everything on my own. That's the biggest mistake I made with this production, but I'am a kind of guy that wants things to speed up once in production. I don't like waiting, that blocks my creativity. I will not make another short unless I have a good cast & crew and professional equipment that's for sure. I even might consider a professional remake of Dead Serious too then.
