About the meetup
Deward Lawrence and I are Back from Austin, Texas where we were filming "The Leftovers". It is an HBO/ Warner Brothers series about the people remaining after the "Rapture". We met so many good actors and had some visiting time with some of the cast and crew. They will be filming around Austin for the next few weeks and we may be called back. They still need more background and featured actors. Brock Casting is handling the hiring of talent. Check them out online for work opportunities. They really took care of us and about 200 other actors pretty well. They also gave us a bonus for finishing on schedule.
We are about to meet again for the 4th time at Rio Mambos Cantina. Some of us have projects outstanding and some in development. We will talk about these and may have some local talent come for the first time. We are growing, and I am working, which makes it harder to keep up with everyone and their schedules. I invite you to meet with us on next Thursday at Rio Mambos to meet some of us and see if we're right for you. As always, I'll buy the first drink..... Hope to see you there'
About the group
The first 'Stage 32' actors meet-up group serving Dallas and Ft.Worth actors and crew professionals in the area. Meet-ups with our group will help to find opportunities for our members and further the film industry in and outside of the Metroplex. We will maintain a listing of available talent in our group to support project casting and any emergency last minute film crews. Because how many times have we been on a shoot and ran out of background actors or no-shows? We will also try to share the wisdom of our histories on the set. The group may end up being the go to place for directors and casting agents to cast their projects. Please join us and let's see how big we can become together. We can also be a great opportunity to try that new play you've written or that screenplay which is begging to be produced. DFWART is starting, and if you are looking for a group such as this, please contact us. We will decide what would be the best times and places to have our meets when we get a few interested members. I posted some of the many pictures taken at the Fourth "meet up" for the DFWART team for Stage 32. Thanks to RB and Julie at Stage 32 for the "Swag" that was handed out to the attendees at the meet. Several projects were started and some acting jobs were assigned in the local area. Lots of exciting things happening in our area. Looking for other actors, directors, etc... who need a family....
