About Meg

I'm an art department assistant local to Kansas City, but open to opportunities in other locations. Day jobs before have landed me in engineering offices creating construction drawings using AutoCAD while simultaneously serving as a volunteer coordinator for Kansas City Creates during their Fringe Festival and WaterFire KC events. I have also served as a board member of the Independent Filmmakers' Commission of Kansas City.

I've worked with telephone and internet companies and non-profit arts groups, on mine sites, in retail sales, and medical product design. I try to use my experience from all of these areas to give my sets a stronger sense of reality.

I've trained in technical drawing (metric and imperial), to complete large and small scale location surveys, in construction materials and practices, in set health and safety regulations. I have on-set experience as production designer and art director, set decorator, props master, and working with the standby art department on live and pre-recorded productions on set and on location in the UK and USA.

As part of my coursework, I designed various multi camera live light entertainment sets, including a breakfast chat show and adventure game show, a multi camera live audience sitcom, single camera period drama, and single camera book film adaptation. I have also completed internships at Cardiff Theatrical Services and at the BBC's drama village on Doctor Who.
