TARPON SPRINGS
By Eleni Papanou

GENRE: Comedy, Drama
LOGLINE: A Hollywood hunk dies in a stunt mishap and finds himself resurrected in the body of a frumpy Greek sponge diver.

SYNOPSIS:

Hollywood hunk, Adam Grant, is about to go through a major transformation…or rather transmutation. While performing a parachute stunt in California, he veers off course and lands in the ocean. Adam thinks he’s saved after he’s fished out by Greek captain, Spero Poulas. Imagine his surprise when he discovers he’s now off the coast of Tarpon Springs, a small Florida coastal town famous for the Greek sponge divers that settled there. Adam receives an even bigger shock when he looks in the mirror and doesn’t recognize the face staring back at him. That’s because his soul now inhabits the body of Christos Anastos, a stodgy middle-aged sponge diver who suffered a fatal heart attack during his dive. At first, Adam is happy to be out of the limelight and looks forward to a life of anonymity. But after an encounter with his estranged parents at his own funeral, depression sets in. It seems even a new body won’t allow him to escape the memories of his previous life. As he’s about to kill himself by jumping off a balcony, Christos’s ghost shows up with a request: Adam must go back to Tarpon Springs, and he only has thirty days to figure out why before he dies again. Adam returns to Tarpon Springs and soon feels at home within the small Greek community. He starts performing good deeds and even embarks on a sponge dive adventure with Spero to help save his business. But when Adam returns to land, his good Samaritan image is tarnished when the local belly dancing philosopher falls for him. Spero's son, George, has been pining for her since he was a boy. With George angry at him for stealing his lady love and Spero’s dream of a white wedding for his son crushed, Adam must figure out how to make everyone happy before he dies. But he must first figure out how to do that for himself. Tarpon Springs has an inspirational theme of love and acceptance that will attract a wide audience.
