SYNOPSIS:

PAULETTE "POLLY HAPSBURG" is an African American woman who doesn’t know it.  She isn't a candidate for any beauty contests either, but she has confidence.  So when the death of Elizabeth Bennet was announced, she saw it as a chance to make her dream come true. Polly quits her job and buys a ticket to London to try to meet MARK DARCY, the most sought after celebrity in the world. Shortly after arriving in London, Polly meets FABRIZIO, an Oxford academic.  For a brief time, Fabrizio distracts her by taking her around London and Oxford.  Fabrizio quickly falls in love with Polly and asks her to live with him.  Polly rejects his offer. Later, Polly gets a call from her hotel explaining that her payment was rejected due to insufficient funds.  Desperate, she attempts to apply for housing support at a local Muslim women's safe haven after seeing a newspaper advert. Immediately, her lie is found out and she is thrown out the building.   Polly ends up at the Ritz Hotel.  After enjoying a lovely English tea service, she realises that her purse was pick pocketed.  She isn't able to pay the bill.  The manager of the Ritz asks her name so he could file a report before calling the Police.  Upon hearing that her name was Hapsburg, the manager mistakes her for being a member of the Austrian royal house of the Habsburg.  The case of mistaken identity at the Ritz affords Polly the opportunity to meet Mark Darcy at a VIP screening of a premiere movie at the Odeon Leicester Square as a guest of the Ritz. When the screening of the movie at the Odeon is over, Polly introduces herself to Mark as the Royal Highness Polly Habsburg of the royal family of Austria.  He receives her easily and after talking about his finances, invites her to meet with him. Polly meets Mark who seduces Polly. He explains that his wife was rarely intimate with him due to her career.   Polly and Mark become an item and all the media is a buzz talking about them.  Then, unexpectedly, she finds out that she is pregnant.  As well, her notoriety causes the media to report how she misrepresented herself as royalty.  The media finds out that she is not a royalty, and that claiming to be a member of the royal house of the Habsburgs is a criminal offence in the European Union.  She is not able to cope.  Polly is faced with a choice to stay and be branded a criminal or to flee?
