Sizzle Reel Needed

I'm looking for an approximate cost to shoot a Sizzle Reel for a court-room reality show, preferably in the Orange County/LA area. Can you help?

D Marcus

It could cost from a few hundred to several thousand. A one day shoot with a small crew and cast might be in the $2,000 range.

Depends on your cast/crew and location costs. You might check out some of the local law schools and see if they'll let you shoot for free during off-hours or weekends in their simulated courtroom, as I did on a feature. Some law schools have these court-room setups, some don't.

In Los Angeles there are five standing courtroom sets offering a broad range of rental prices. I love the law school idea. I wonder if there are any in the LA/OC area that have a mock courtroom....

The law school I shot at was up in the S. F. Valley... can't remember the name.

D Marcus

That's too bad. It would be a huge help to others if you remembered where you shot.

Sorry, but when you shoot quickly in multiple locations on multiple films over the years, it all becomes a blur, especially when those locations are arranged by your crew, not yourself.

Most reality sizzle reels are not "shot" at all. They are simply cut from clips and stills lifted online. Very fast,, very cheap. Copyright is a non issue, because like fashion look book, it's merely a tool in support of your pitch and will never be seen anywhere but the offices you pitch in.

If you must shoot, Pepperdine's Moot Court in Malibu is nice, and reasonable.
