Introduce Yourself : Writer/Director by Roger D. Franks Sr.

Hello everyone, glad to be a part of Stage32. I have been writing for a few years now, starting out in the supernatural/horror genre and have expanded out, taking on romance, drama and scifi. No formal education in film, so all I can say is everything I learned about movies, I did so by watching them. In 2010 I did a nine part web series entitle 'The Carrier', just to get my feet wet behind the camera. In 2011 I produced a short film, 'This side of the Fence' for a fellow writing friend of mine. In 2013 I wrote and directed a short film 'The Watch' that is currently on the festival circuit. We premiered at the Hollywood Black Film Festival, won the Audience Award at the Macon Film Festival and just had a showing at the Mississippi International Film Festival. I have posted the trailer for 'The Watch' posted here on the sight if you would like to see it. Currently, I am working with a fellow writer on a faith based script, 'Terra Ceia', reaching out to investors, and a romance script that I have written, 'Dancing Lessons', working with producer Jared Safier to put a package deal together. I'm introducing myself here because I love film, I love to talk about film and I would love to connect with those that feel the same.
