Screenwriting : Greeting from La La Land! by Jim Vines

I've been a Los Angeles screenwriter for a number of years. It's been a fun ride. Yes, a rough ride at times, but if you love writing and movies as much as I do, it's all worth it. If you're thinking about screenwriting as a career path, make sure you're doing it for the love of writing, cuz trust me, if you're in it for "fame" or "glory"...well, let's not even go there. Again: WRITE BECAUSE YOU LOVE IT. (Famous quote: "Find a job you truly love and you'll never work a day in your life.") Though I still take on occasional assignment gigs, I've really been focusing my efforts on my first novel. It's been a blast. In many ways, I've enjoyed writing prose more than writing screenplays (but shhhh, don't tell anybody). Anyway, I look forward to stopping by here at Stage 32 every so often and seeing what kind of trouble I can get into. Until then...HAPPY WRITING!
