Introduce Yourself : Howdy folks by Vidi Chandra

Hi there all. My name is Vidi and I'm a Melbourne based producer. Currently working on the challenging project of getting 2 filmmakers and a portable Solar Cinema to a homeless children's centre in South Sudan. They are travelling with the charity Peace Palette, established by ex child soldier David Vincent, to the remote village of Turalei, South Sudan. We are taking a new Australian kids feature film, educational and health material and personal messages from the South Sudanese refugee community in Melbourne. The children's centre is being rebuilt while the filmmakers are there and the gardens to provide food for the kids will be re sown after floods destroyed all of the crops. We are using crowd funding to raise the 12.5K we need, as well as having a local social enterprise assists us by hooking us up with funds through product sales which has been an added bonus not just financially but also in audience and relationship building.
