Directing indies in the rainy northwest

Hello Stage 32 friends, I've directed and produced indie comedies and thrillers in Vancouver BC for about eight years, and I've attended TIFF and Cannes to screen and sell my films (shorts and features). I ran two film societies, Raindance Vancouver and IIFF (Institute for International Film Financing), as well as directed the programming of VSFF (Vancouver Short Film Festival) - endeavors I've now passed on to others to carry on. Previously, I was a 2D animator until I got tired of dropping anvils on cartoons -- and made the shift to live action, where heavy things may fall on me instead (more exciting!). I'm always looking for collaborators, writers, producers and distributors interested in my genres. At this present time I am packaging a cool crime thriller titled PUNK NOIR (in the vein of Chinatown) which I'm co-producing with screenwriter Jon Povill (Star Trek, Total Recall) - if this catches your interest, drop me a line. I also have a new broad comedy feature looking for distribution (THE COVER-UP) and a few more projects in other stages of development. Look me up on http://www.javierbadillo.com (or IMDB), and get in touch. I wish you all the best of luck in achieving your amazing celluloid dreams and may the new year bring you good tidings and all-around success!
