I just recently completed my first script which is a pilot for a show I created. I'm a rookie screenwriter; I know I need more practice and material to put in my portfolio. I wanted to ask if it's better to keep writing the show or if I should move into another idea? Thanks guys!

I think you should move on. Jot down ideas for it whenever they come to you, but start on a new project. I'm assuming it's a really good ideas for a show, but It probably needs a lot of work. A year from now when you have more experience and then go back to it with fresh eyes, boy will you change a lot. But that's just my opinion.
1: Write a script. - Done! Congrats! You're already ahead of the game. Seriously, good job! 2: Shelf it. - Forget the story (for now.) 3: Write a completely different story. 4: Shelf it. - Forget the story (for now.) 5: Return to the script in #1, rewrite it. 6: Shelf it. 7: Return to the script in #3, rewrite it. Constantly learn the craft. Read screenplays, watch movies. Read books about the structure of screenplay writing. Best of luck to you. It's a long road, but what a road to travel.
If your goal with your writing samples is to show several episodes of one show then continue writing those episodes. If your goal is to show your versatility as a writer then I suggest you move to another idea.
