I'm a screenwriter and a playwright. I've won a few awards for playwriting, and gotten as high as the semi-finals in the Nicholls Fellowship. I'm interested in writing all kinds of stories. I once had a screenplay sent back to me because the producer didn't believe it was written by a woman. THAT was confusing. But then I was once tossed from a "women playwrights" competition for writing too male. So I guess it's just one of those things. I write character-driven stories. I'm also (in my spare time) a rock climber, a big ice hockey fan, and a compulsive reader of all kinds of books (fiction and non-fiction). I look forward to the possibility of working with someone from this group. It seems there are a lot of talented people here. For more information about me, I have a web site: www.sarahbewley.com.

HI Sarah: I'm a fellow female screenwriter. Funny I would think writing like a male would give you a leg up in this business considering how the males out number us

Hi Margaret - You'd think! The problem was apparently that the guy simply would not buy that a woman had written the script. I don't get it. I've yet to meet a producer that didn't believe a man wrote a woman's story! (grin)
