Does anyone know CS Drotman, an LA-based screenwriter? She wrote a wonderful script based on my novel, "Lie Under the Fig Trees" and disappeared! :) I'd love to use Stage 32 to get things going.
excellent questions! [1] did you have a contract with her to adapt your novel? I think we did, but it was years ago and I am not sure at this point [2] did you pay her? no, she loved my novel, she was excited about the prospects [3] did you or she register the script with the WGA or LOC? I strongly believe she did it [4] do you have the physical screenplay? yes, I do somewhere in a basement in California, but I am currently in Taiwan thanks for your help in clarifying the situation, do you have additional tips? best regards, Tad
Hello, Eve, I hope everything's alright with her writing, with herself, as well as with my intellectual property. :) The only safety net I have is my novel's Library of Congress copyright registration. :) I hope I can recover the text of the script from the LOC or WGA!
Hi, Peter! Well, I had done this search myself, yet I didn't get the results you did,,,, Puts my search skills to shame, haha! :) But I love your expert input and I thank you for caring to land a hand. :) I'm going to follow up on your intel and share the dirt.
Happy to report CS Drotman, who'd turned my novel "Lie Under the Fig Trees" into a screenplay, is alive and kicking! Just got a mss from her. So thanks, Board, and esp. Peter Corey, for your collective input. There's no doubt in my mind now that using the energy and synergy of Stage 32 we're going to hit Hollywood.

@tad sounds to me she may have taken liberties with your idea if she in fact disappeared. Sorry.
