Hi, friends! I just started a new YouTube channel called OLGA LOOKS FOR LOVE. It's only just beginning, but I'd love to get some feedback from people who have successfully launched a comedy series online. My videos are very short, and I have minimal equipment but I make do with what I have. The premise: My alter-ego, Olga, is a v-logging outsider looking in on what she thinks is the American lifestyle, through what she sees on TV/Internet (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are her heroes). It's LONELYGIRL15 - meets - BORAT - meets - I LOVE LUCY. Major culture clash + a twenty-something existential crisis = fun. While I am not exactly hiding the fact that I'm acting/writing it, there is no indication on the actual channel (or the character's instagram) that she is not a real person. We'll see what happens. ....As the series continues, Olga will be found online by some college guys and brought to America by accident. By this time the production quality will improve as well (less v-log, more series). Instead of sending her back, they see an opportunity and follow her on her quest for stardom. I would love some tips from people who have successfully transitioned from v-log format to full-on web series. I'm very new to the technical side, so I'm also looking for creative collaborators to learn from/with in the future. Here are url's to the two episodes that have already been released: #1: RUSSIAN MAKEUP TUTORIAL FAIL - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzEiiuhgA2I #2: ASK OLGA ANYTHING - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjeBrk3cMRY I'm posting videos on a weekly basis, every Monday. Of course I would love it if you subscribed/liked/commented/did whatever else millennials do, but what's most valuable to me at this point is learning. There are a lot of talented and educated people here on Stage 32, and I'd love to get to know more of you. Thank you for reading this super long winded post about some super short videos. I appreciate all the happy energy on this site! Looking forward to learning more. Cheers, -Rachel J Clark www.thatracheljclark.com
