What a pleasure it's been to find this place. :) I'm a voice actor and singer in the Toronto Canada area, though I do a lot of work all over the States (there are videos of my work on my profile here, in case you're interested). I've also been singing a very long time and am currently working on a jazz album with a friend of mine in the UK (I LOVE technology! It's made long distance collaborations - both with my musician friends and with my clients, SO much easier. Would love to hear how technology has made your profession easier too! Or not ... Always interested in both sides ...) When it comes to singing, I'm more of a studio musician than a live performer ... but I've done live performances too. (Just infrequently) I'd love to get to know folks so feel free to say hello! Thanks and I hope you're all having a fantastic weekend. :)

Hi Brandi! A pleasure to meet you! And likewise - if you need anything, let me know. :) You too, Kathryn. Great to meet another fellow Canadian. :) How do both of you use this site? I'm curious.

Thanks, Kathryn. I'll definitely check the different sections out! It's still pretty cold here, but not as cold as it has been (yesterday it was -15 C and today it's just -6 C). It won't warm up again until March some time, really. It'll plunge back down again tomorrow... but this is winter in Ontario. Not unexpected. ;) Hope you're staying warm!

I'm definitely doing that, CJ. Thanks!
Hi Jodi I would love to hear some of your music..please respond by direct messaging.
Thanks so much for your perspective, Brandi. I appreciate your taking the time. And those educational opportunities really sound wonderful. I didn't know about this place when I was just starting out in my voice over business, but now that I'm a bit more established, maybe I can help those that are looking to further their own goals in that regard. There's always more to learn and a higher echelon to achieve. And of course, keeping one's head in the game is always a challenge - especially when you're in the ebb part of the "ebb and flow". ;) Do you have a website of your own where your music can be found? And incidentally, if you're a songwriter at all, maybe The Muse's Muse will be helpful to you - http://www.musesmuse.com . It's a songwriting resource I've had going since 1995.

I look forward to having a listen, Brandi. :) And I'm having a look through the Education portion of this place at the webinars now. There are several I'd like to purchase, in fact. What a great resource this place is!

Hi Sherry! Nashville is a place I've always wanted to visit ... I have friends there in both the music and voice over industries and I hear it's a beautiful place. :) I'm definitely liking it here so far! Thanks for the welcome!

I totally get that, Carlin. ;) My husband is from 220 miles north of Edmonton - and I've been there for winters. No thanks! :D When I'm able, I'll move to a place for 3-4 months out of the year, that's a lot warmer. Tampa is looking quite nice ... And great to meet you too, Chaendra!

So that would be up around Fort McMurray area? I was from Grand Prairie, but most people can only find Edmonton ;)

Actually, a little town called Crooked Creek. (Basically a sign on a highway and a general store). I think they're 20 minutes south of Valleyview? Debolt was really close ...

Sure, I remember Valleyview, and Crooked Creek sounds familiar. OK, moving on, now that we've got our geography figured out! haha

Welcome to the community Jodi. It's great to meet you here. I find, as you do, that technology makes it possible to collaborate with talented people all over the world. It's definitely a wonderful time to be in creative work.
Hi, Jodi! Nice to meet another singer. I have been singing my whole life and love it, but never recorded or anything. I have sung in choirs and as a solo artist. I love to perform live even though it is nerve-wracking til you start singing then its a blast. I would love to record someday.
I totally agree, Vincent. And I hope you do get to record some day, Rene - though it sounds like you're having a blast without that. ;)
Liz, sorry? I have no idea what you're talking about. :) Can you explain?

Very cool, Kathryn! I haven't been there in about 5 years, but it's beautiful country - winter or summer. I have to confess that I like it a bit more in the summer though. ;)

So sorry, my bad! That was meant to be posted in a discussion where someone was thinking about taking an idea from an earlier work. I will delete and repost.
No worries, Liz. I was just a bit confused. ;)

You must be AWESOME to watch in live performance, Jodi!! Keep the faith & you'll be rewarded!!

lol ! I've done live performance, Mitch - but always with lyric sheets (I don't read music). In the form of my iPad. :) I don't perform enough to memorize all the songs I do, lyric-wise - though I know the tunes.
