Will the current Film industry boom in Atlanta, Georgia (thanks in part to the tax incentives) last or end up the same as in Toronto, Canada with many festivals, fewer productions and a surplus of union actors? I am thinking about moving there but do not want to make the same mistake twice. (BTW, I am an American citizen with fully paid up SAG-AFTRA Union membership).

I've been in Atlanta for three years now. In my opinion, Atlanta is not as film friendly as I thought it was. What I mean by that is it's sort of like an "In Crowd" when it comes to networking and getting on productions. I'm just now linking up with a good crew that I met on another shoot and that's after 3 years of being here. But other people's experiences may be different.
Moe. Are you still on this site and working in Atlanta? I went to NY first for a few years but decided to give Atlanta a shot since I can still go back and forth between here and NY.
Rocco After working in several markets around the country and even in a couple of non US markets; a truth that I've discovered is that the local film clique tends to be quite colonial in their thinking. From Hollywood to New York, it's up to you to overcome the obstacles to penetrate the local 'in crowd'. They're generally quite protective - sad but true.
