I'm not sure it's really a thing just another stereotype or niche group of actors you may get put in a pile of head shots with on a casting director or producers desk. I think I dont get cast often because my babyface makes me look in my late teens to early 20s when I'm actually 36.
As a writer, producer and sometime director - I say no.
As a writer0-director I also say: NO. As a crew member on indie genre features; always working hard on the set...I've overheard many producers -- and assistants trying to be producers -- using every act of discrimination they can to get a leg up on the competition. Ad keep it hidden by having those same assistants cover their tracks.
