Getting an Actor or Director attached to your screenplay?
Does anyone have any experience with this? I know on Inktip, there is a box you can tick if you have an actor/director attached. Therefore, It hought it must be doable?
For example, if I have an actor for my leading lady...let's say Zoe Saldana...how the heck would I be able to get to her to ask? Do actors read these...or do their PR agents tell them what is best for their careers? I could only tell them the potential , if they would read the script and fall in love with it. Hell I could promise them a gazillion, but without a contract haha!
There's also the "can't hurt to try" theory. George Clooney probably has all the great parts he needs, but some actors may feel constrained by their options, and if their manager is on the lookout for great parts and you can present a plausible case that you have one... I mean, it's an extremely long shot, but what do you lose if you fail?
Well hell...I am gonna try! LoL. If anything comes up I will update you guys. Thanks @Erik for the wonderful link which I have bookmarked! Another word for my screenwriting list of jargons...!!! :-)

The technical term for what you describe is called "packaging", attaching actors and directors as part of an overall finance plan for your film. This link might help you with that: http://independentfilmblog.com/simple-packaging-techniques-that-work
