Acting : Hey There :D by Ned Faulkner

Ned Faulkner

Hey There :D

Today is the day I submitted my first commercial voice over product. That is to say that the first work that I've been paid for was submitted today; Fiverr doesn't count (no offence). The work was only a very small 'message on hold' gig but I won the job through my own endeavours and contacts and I will allow myself to be proud of that. As should all of you in what you produce. Formal and informal training are paramount. Self reflection and introspection are needed. External assessment and , sometimes, ridicule are good. I've heard it said that to survive and thrive in the VO industry you need thick skin. If you've ever attempted something new then you've already got the skin. doesn't take to much to make it thick I live in a relatively small VO market, Perth Western Australia, but the folks that I've come in to contact with have all been very inclusive. I've been lucky. I haven't succeeded yet. I am succeeding. Hello all and I look forward to spending some good time on this Stage.
