Introduce Yourself : Moving to LA in June! Anyone want to befriend a newbie writer/production assistant? by Jakeb Maryott

Woah! Hello Stage 32 Community! I just set up an account last night, and you all have been so open and kind already. I can see the passion, the excitement, the devotion to craft, and already I can tell that maintaining an account here will be worth the time and effort, without a doubt. Anyway, there's the first spiel. I'm Jake. I write film scripts, TV specs, and perform stand up comedy/music at open mics. Graduating with a BA in Creative Writing in June, and having just completed a paid internship with Jimmy Kimmel Live at the SXSW Film Festival, I am on the lookout for more opportunities and (ideally) gainful employment in the entertainment industry. I'm moving to Los Angeles in June whether or not I have an industry job set up ahead of time, but if anyone can point me in the right direction before then, I'd be greatly obliged. Also, if you can't point me in the right direction let's be friends anyway! I only know a handful of people in LA, so it'd be great to meet and greet some like-minded people in June. ^_____^ End Spiel. Thanks, Jake
