Introduce Yourself : Hi from New England by Melissa Torriero

Hi! I'm a Connecticut writer and producer of Indie Film, Indie TV, and Web content. Right this very moment, I'm producing a short for the Women Only Project #wop #womenonlyproject. I know that seems sexist, but it's not. I promise I love to work with men... in fact I always work with men. But I believe it's time women had a forum to show off our talents. That is why Sari Gagnon of Counterfeit Cow Productions (in MA) created this project. It's all volunteer, and it's all women. I have a few other projects in limbo; don't we all? I'm working on a feature adaptation of a novel by Connecticut author, Glenn Cheney. I'm shopping a reality series about a band of Baby Boomers who play their original music which is blues/country/Americana. The cool thing about the band is that they don't tour- they give monthly concerts in a converted barn/soundstage. It's homey and warm and fun. Everybody dances and sings along, and the shows are always booked solid. The fans are treated like family at a party: there is wine, kegs of beer, pizza, sandwiches, cake, soda, etc... all included in the price of admission- FREE. These fellas are funny and charming, too. I could go on all day. In between working for others I write for myself. I have an (Adult Swim type) animated series about a bunch of 20-somethings. It pokes fun at current memes and stereotypes. I also have a dark feature drama called, "About the First Time I Killed my Sister."
