Greetings, Stage 32 community :) I'm Dr Mark Seton, based in Sydney, Australia, and part of a growing international community of practitioner/actor/teachers and researchers passionate about supporting and promoting the holistic health and wellbeing of actors on stage and screen. I've developed a coaching program with Australian actors over the past few years, specifically to help actors who have difficulties debriefing/letting go of intense physical and/or emotional roles. It's a program that advocates "resilient vulnerability" in supporting the necessary risk-taking and vulnerability required of actors for various kinds of performance. Equity Australia has also partnered with me (and colleagues at the University of Sydney) to conduct a national survey of Actors' Wellbeing (2013) Here's s link to a recent interview http://www.abc.net.au/pm/content/2014/s4065846.htm A published report will be coming out at the end of June 2015, and I'll be hosting some live Webinars about our findings. I'll announce them through Stage 32 when the date are confirmed, and I welcome any of you who have an interest in actors' wellbeing to connect with me in the meantime and I can keep you updated about practical research that is occurring to support actors, both in training at drama schools, and in various working contexts. Wishing you all a rewarding and sustainable life of creativity and delight, Mark
