"apartment 304" a project of passion

Hello, ALL I'm B'nard Lewis. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. I reflect on watching the classic actors growing up, the Strasberg students, the black and white film artist, the early color artist, the artist of the 50's, 60's and 70's. Real actors! Not to discount the great talent of today, but the initiators of the craft. I had the pleasure of working with Pierre Robin, an acting coach, who by the way was taught acting along side Strasberg when the two of them were students themselves. Young, stubborn and fighting the ways of the craft in the beginning, I learned to trust that force and to embrace it fully. And it works! The method of applying sense memory and recall, works! At that point my awareness took flight. Since, I have worked with, and been mentored by, some of the best and most talented artist in contemporary times. From actors, directors and filmmakers in stage, television and film. The list of talent is incredible and most humbling as it pertains to my career. But, I say, "thank you" to all. Redford, Hoffman, Robin, Lathan, Singletary, Wiper, Cannon, Alexander, Braugher, Phillips, Tooley, Hensley, Harry, Rosentein, Moyer, Khan-White and even final casting losses to Cruise and Jackson. Over 25 years I have strengthened my weakest links in my chain, if you will, writing. In the 10th grade a teacher announced that my writing assignment was an A+ paper. But, gave me a C+, because she proclaimed that "I" could have not possibly done the work myself. I had to have someone else do it for me. That experience has been the catalyst to becoming the best I can be at writing. So, now many, many years later, I have compiled a literary library of content that spans all genres for both film and television, that I wrote myself. Now, since 2012, I have established open submit relationships with mid-major L.A. based studios for my literary content. With each year since providing more and more opportunities, finding that some studios are tailored toward certain genres and their preferred subject matter. Now in 2015, I have created and shot 2 TV pilot concepts, have a full feature "A Perfect Chaos" in pre-production in L.A. and have returned to Ohio from Atlanta to shoot "Apartment 304", a short featurette inspired by one of my all time "original old school/new school" favorites, Martin Scorsese. Glad to be a apart of the Stage 32 community. And this is my introduction! Blessing to all. Wishing all the very best! We are all sailors on this sea of creativity. Few become admirals, some become captains and some we lose overboard at sea to our best charted destinations. But, we all need the navigation. And I think that's what we fight for. What gives us, I think, our authenticity, is that when we have arrive, we do so respecting and honoring all those who have survived, sacrificed and for whatever reasons were lost at sea. May the creative forces be with us all, as we strive to be the best that we can be. And, hopefully one day, come that much closer to be able to at the minimum, stand in the shadows of the greats! Best to all here on Stage 32 and beyond! Sincerely, B'nard Lewis
