Well this is nice...I keep introducing folk I come across to this network. Just love the 'no spamming' guide coupled with the stream of invites from this network marketing board to promote courses and webinars.....interesting. Hmmm, dreams and ambitions? Looking to start a film festival in London next year compiled of efforts from Londoners who have skills and abilities that have disappeared into a blue collar, (must pay the rent) job. The amount of folk trained in media but are edited out of the business due to not knowing the right people disgusts and outrages me. London is essential due to the networking possibilities but impossible to sustain with work in the arts. Felt the need to do something about it...there's my twopenny's worth. Thanks for listening and enjoy the rest of the weekend - wherever you are.
Hello! My name is Renee and I just started my film company, Vortex House Studios LLC. This is my first venture into film making from my career in writing and acting- neither that I'm going to stop doing:) I've been through so much in the past four years that I really think that its my turn to shine and inspire others to never give up on your dreams. From being nearly homeless with five children and my parents actually becoming homeless... I have my share of horror stories. But, I'm stayed my course and after a two year leave from acting and writing I've came back stronger than ever! I'm hopeful for the future and making new friends and associates in Entertainment.

You have strong feelings about this, thats good, the only way to see to it that better change comes. But why start a film festi?

Because I have done projects and events management professionally and know what constitutes a vanity project and a positive business impetus. I have done the research and development. Festivals - like new businesses are ten a penny, but those with vision, impetus and proper business planning are as rare as pearls. generally speaking, they are vanity projects for owners and film makers alike. There are differences in what I have in mind. I am interested in the business of brand building with a production company attached. festival voluntarism is usually where all the dissatisfied and disaffected talent disappears into. This need be captured and articulated.

True...so are you looking to rally followers or open a door that hasnt been opened there before?

Both, though it will take some time. I did want to be up and running this year but have to wade through nearly 1000 interested CVs and go through some kind of interview process. Currently I am team building with like minded professionals with the stomach for the inevitable swathe of time wasters.

Not a problem Richard. And thank you for creating something that was needed. Will use it wisely.....currently looking to promote the needs of the bar staff creatives in London via the pub and club network that may or may not be willing to showcase work. Will be sure to keep the site posted. Best, Gail.
