Composing : Is it something that people may need... by Robert Ellis

Is it something that people may need...

I currently have - and I created these myself overtime; 150 ambiences and time stretched loops of sounds like breathing, flies, grasshoppers, dripping water, rowing boats, tinkling bells, bees, seashore, thunder claps, rain, ticking clocks, and some impacts like doors slamming, explosions, etc, all of which will fit within any tempo. I am thinking of offering these for a very low fee (to help support my website) as a collection. The sounds are copyright free; obtained from soundsnap, when I had free membership. I then time based/ and looped them for my own use, but have since been asked by software creators, musicians et all where to get them; there currently on my hard drive. Would it be worth my while. My trouble is what to charge. You could use these as a set of ambiences for either film or music use.

What I believe you have done for yourself has been available commercially by 'myriads' of vendors for over 20 years - probably more.... The one I learnt about first back when I changed careers to music in 2000 (which again is far from the only one) is http://www.hollywoodedge.com/
