My partner was trying to find some angel investors online and came across some possible hits. We checked the investor out via the FBI and other channels to make sure he's legit. So far so good. He's not a resident of the United States so a red flag is constantly waiving in my mind. Has anyone ever had this possible scam come their way? If so what did they want and how'd you handle it?

Set up the investment correctly. If he gives you money then it's not a scam. If he asks you for money it's a scam.

Every one of these types of so called "Angel Investors" who are out of the country have always hit me with a "Fee" just before the transaction is to go down. Do not fall for these, I have names if you need them.
We didn't go with the investor because we couldn't come up with money to open up a foreign account. SCAM!!! By all means pass along the names so people don't fall prey to these scam artists.
