New Festival Director Introduction

Hello everybody my name is Bob Cook and I am the Executive Director of the Central Florida Film Festival. I am also a filmmaker and writer. Film festival is located in Ocoee, Florida and takes place over Labor Day. It keeps me quite busy.

Best of luck, Bob! Wish I could attend, but I work as a school counselor so we're in session.

Hello Bob it's good to "meet" you. I am a Founder and Co-Executive Director of the Shortz! Film Festival in Chico Ca. (Sept 18-20, 2015) I can really relate to you when you say it keeps you quite busy. LOL This is my other full time job (that I do for free) when I am not doing my paying job. HA! I wish you great success in your upcoming festival!

L. Renee Boyd - good to see there's another person out there willing to keep independent film in the public's eye without fanfare or payment. My web site is www.centralfloridafilmfestival.com - let's see if we have some of the same films. - Bob

Ana Maria - If you are in the Central Florida area we have a high school program on Friday, September 4, 2015 from 9:30 am until 2:00 pm. Screening college films and the feature HOOVEY followed by a Q&A with director Sean McNamara (Soul Surfer). Makes for a great field trip.

Hi Bob, Looks like you've got an amazing festival going. Programming for three theaters, classes, Q&A's, and then some! I didn't see that we shared any of the same short films. I enjoyed reading about how the fest started and how it has grown. We have similarities in how our festivals came to be and why we do it. We are only in our 5th year but we have continued to grow. We started with screening 35 films in 2011 (international, national & local) and have grown to screening 60 films this year. This is our first year separating films into categories for awards so we got multiple judges per category to help us select the Best In Show. One judge came from here on Stage32. :) It has been much busier on my end of things, but I can see how it will make this festival more rewarding for our filmmakers. It is an exciting and fun year.

We should exchange email addresses (festival one ok) and keep in touch. Who knows maybe one year we can do an exchange. I'll bring you in to see mine and you let me see yours. CenFlo2008@aol.com
