I'm an NYC based musician, performer, composer in my fifties, and my goal is to inspire young people and teens to follow their dreams rather than give up as they grow older and start getting the "no's" and negative comments directed at them. I made the choice to follow my dreams in my late 40's. Until then, it was clear for me that I would never do anything great. Now it's my mission to shape the younger generation through my music and conversation. Want to join my team?

I am having fun. I tried modelling and then a little acting in my late teens and 20's but was too insecure. Now in my 50's it is just a blast. Doesn't mean I'm good but I'm trying! Last week I played a nun on a Yukon Blonde video. This was a huge stretch for me. It was bad enough arriving on set without makeup but then doing the entire shoot without it, in a nun's habit was quite ... freeing. I was someone else. It's one of the things I love about the acting world. You can be anyone you want to! Just a few days before that I'd gone to volunteer on a film as an extra and they placed me at the head table as Mother of the Groom (I wore a great Anne Klein dress and was really the only suitable candidate). As the day progressed the decision was made that I would give a mimed speech. I didn't even get nervous; I just got up there and thought about what I would say at one of my son's weddings with some relevant words. They were thrilled and it was done in one take. It makes me want to do it more of course. I had a testimonial audition this week and self taping is a problem but I'll figure it out as I go! Trial and error. I am patient. So, my wise words to the young are: If you're having a problem with getting into a role that isn't you, realize that they want only a part of you. They want the character. Find that character in you and play! It's play! Enjoy. :)
