Thomas J. Herring - Screenwriter from Great North West

Just reintroducing myself to you. I'm a screenwriter, storyboard artist in the northwest part of the USA. A few months back one of my screenplays was a semifinalist along with a bunch of others in a competition. the name will remain unlisted. Anyway, my goal is to find a manager or someone that will take a chance and guide me through the maze known as Hollywood. If not, it's still fun writing and coming up with twisted ideas. So, what's going on in your life?

Emma J Steele

Great to hear from you, Thomas! Congratulations on your successes. If you're looking to find representation, have you checked out the pitch sessions here with the Happy Writers? Good luck with your future projects.

Thomas J. Herring

I've looked into them but right now it's not something I can afford. I'll check with WGA and see what listing they may have. Meanwhile, it's back to my writing and storyboards.

Howdy, Thomas. What part of the Northwest? I've spent a few years in Seattle myself and kind of miss it (or at least miss what it used to be...) What genre do you normally write in?

Thomas J. Herring

Portland Oregon. It's grown to the point of being too expensive to live here. I still love it here though. I write mostly science fiction but I did write a few horror/zombie stuff. That's what got me in the semifinals this past summer.

Welcome, Thomas

Fletcher Gibson

You got semi-finalist with a ZOMBIE script? You're totally my hero.

Thomas J. Herring

I know. It's crazy. My prize was to get free access to a podcast with Jacob Krueger who wrote the Matthew Shepard Story in 2002. Now I have to figure out what to do next to elevate my writing career.
