Is there anybody else here who is JUST a writer, not a writer/actor/producer/story analyst or whatever? I make my living writing books (William L. Simon, if anyone wants to look me up on Amazon) but I'm also a Writers Guild member for documentaries and (unproduced) screenplays. Currently putting together ideas for a new screenplay about relationship issues. I'd like to find a writer interested in exploring a writing partnership -- especially someone who could help with the comedy elements. LA-based would be a big plus. And someone who could bring the female perspective to the story would also be a plus. Anyone interested in knowing more?
Hey, William! Great to see you in the lounge. This was my experience here on S32: I searched for writers to exchange scripts for feedback. I found several writers, checked out their styles, and ultimately picked the yin to my yang. And an editor!
They didn't even know they were being 'interviewed'.

Thanks. Interesting idea. I've been in writers' groups with other WGA members. Got some excellent advice, but everyone is tied up in their own projects and not looking for a partner. Did you have to read a ton of screenplays to find someone you clicked with?
I posted twice for separate features. Read double-digit scripts each time. Provided in-depth coverage to see who could handle it and who couldn't. Judged their coverage of my scripts. Had storycraft conversations on the phone/skype. Then I chose the writer who I had the best time with talking stories. The writer who makes my/our stories better -Shane Wheeler of S32. I also found an awesome editor and story consultant, Katrhyn Rushent.... It took a lot of man hours, but it was worth it.

Hey William! Would love to connect with a fellow writer. I'm currently working on my 7th book, PEARL which is due out in November. Looking to adapt to film. Please let me know how I may support you in any way. www.CaliGilbertAuthor.com/Pearl
