Hi all, this is really forward planning, but I'm in New York early July next year. It's decades since my last visit & would like some pointers to which theatres to go to. I'm only there for 5 nights so it is whistle stop. I'm more interested in off & off, off Broadway & I know that most won't have their schedules planned that far in advance, but any suggestions will be gratefully appreciated.

Kaitlin: weeks before you arrive, visit TheaterMania's web site to see what's on. Keep in mind that indie theatres do not have matinees, so plan to catch a Broadway show for a Wednesday matinee -- then see something on Theatre Row (West 42nd Street, 9th Ave.) on a Wednesday night. Also print out a map of midtown to help you hop from one venue to the next. And do catch Shakespeare in the Park - - free
